Vienna 2023 - Pre-Conference Courses
Each year, the ECFS organises a number of courses in conjunction with the ECFS conference.
The following courses will be organised in Vienna in 2023:

Clinical Nutrition Course:
Mastering new clinical expertise in emerging nutritional areas

This course will aim to provide education and real world experience in the emerging clinical skills now required by the CF dietitian. The latest literature will be summarised and practical skills examined and discussed.

Short Course: Exercise testing – practicalities and applications for clinical practice
Tuesday 6 and Wednesday 7 June – 1.5 Day

This course has been designed to give an overview of the practicalities of exercise testing, including CPET and submaximal tests. Discussions around suitability of different tests and interpretation of test data for clinical practice are included alongside talks on factors which influence exercise ability and participation and exercise for airway clearance. The course includes an expert panel discussion about selected clinical cases.

The ECFS Conference this year takes place in Vienna, the city of Freud. It gives a great opportunity to explore how the psychodynamic aspects could be used in work with patients with cystic fibrosis.
The Essential toolkit 2023 - A comprehensive overview of the changing face of CF
Wednesday 7 June – 1 day

The 2023 version of The Essential Toolkit provides a dynamic and unique comprehensive overview of the changing face of cystic fibrosis (CF). This course is intended for medical and health care professionals involved in either adult and paediatric CF care and / or CF research, and provides a great opportunity to meet, learn and discuss the new era of CF with experts in the field. It is also great fun! Participants will leave with principles and new skills to apply in practice. Pre-course requirements: Basic knowledge on cystic fibrosis pathogenesis and clinical care is preferable, but not essential.
