ou can buy tickets with a Viva Viagem or Navegante card, available at metro stations, Carris service
points, and authorised retailers across the city. Ticket machines at metro stations accept coins, banknotes, and most credit or debit cards.

You can also use your contactless bank card directly on board: simply tap your card each time you travel, you can buy multiple tickets as well. The system automatically calculates the most convenient fare and charges it later, usually within a few days.

BIKE SHARING

Bikes are an eco-friendly and practical way to get around Lisbon. Although the city is known for its hills, it offers an expanding network of cycle paths and riverside routes that make cycling increasingly accessible and enjoyable.


Bike sharing is available through GIRA, the city’s public bicycle network, which operates with fixed pickup and drop-off stations. You can use the GIRA app to unlock conventional or electric bikes and return them at any docking station across Lisbon.
