ECFS Conference 2020 - Embargo and Press Release Policies

The abstracts selected for the 2020 European CF Conference will be available online via the conference App the week prior to the conference.
These abstracts will also be published as a supplement to the ‘Journal of Cystic Fibrosis’, called the Abstract Book, and available via Science Direct from 30 May 2020.

Embargoes

The information contained in the abstracts is embargoed until the abstracts are available online. Coverage of information that goes beyond that which is contained in the abstract (e.g., additional analysis, commentary, or updated information from those individuals and companies involved in the study) is embargoed according to the following criteria:
- For oral presentations: the embargo time is the start time of the session in which the presentation is being made.
- For poster presentations: the embargo lifts when the poster area containing the poster opens for viewing, i.e Wednesday 3 June, 18:00 local time.

Press releases

Press releases, fact sheets or any other materials designed to facilitate media coverage of research studies presented at the ECFS conference 2020 may only be distributed at the beginning of the session in which the study is presented.  For example, if a study is presented from 11:15 to 11:30 as part of a session that starts at 11:00, press releases or other media materials may be distributed at 11:00.  If multiple studies are addressed in one release, that release may only distributed at the time the latest embargo lifts.
Institutions, public or private, that believe they are compelled to communicate about a study prior to its presentation at the ECFS conference, whether for reasons of disclosure of material data, notification of study participants, or any other reason, must notify the conference secretariat and receive written approval prior to any public communication.  If permission is granted, institutions may issue a press release with general findings (omitting full data to be presented at the meeting) prior to the conference.
Violations of the ECFS Conference press release policy may result in the removal of the abstract(s) involved from the conference programme.
