Introduction

Volunteers are needed for the European Cystic Fibrosis Conference (ECFS) in Gothenburg, June 11th -14th 2014 and for some of the days leading up to the Conference.

This prestigious international medical and scientific conference will bring together experts on CF from around the world. It will provide an important opportunity for those interested in CF including medical students and those involved in patient groups (including the National Cystic Fibrosis Association) to hear some of the latest developments in CF research and care.

The congress centre in Gothenburg (SECC) will be the venue for the ECFS Conference June 11th-14th 2014. The conference attracts around 2,000 participants and there is a huge amount of work in staging such an event. The National Cystic Fibrosis Association is committed to helping out as much as possible. We will need at least 60 volunteers to help out over the four days of the conference and in the days leading up to the conference. Some of the tasks include helping with:

1. Self-Printing Terminals
2. Conference Material
3. Poster Helpdesk
4. Entrance Control
5. ePosters
6. ePoster Corner

7. Social Events
8. Speaker Preview Room
9. Internet Café
10. Helping to dismantle the conference
11. General assistance to participants

In return for helping out, volunteers will be able to access some of the conference free of charge (to access conference programme log on to: www.ecfs.eu/gothenburg2014). T-shirts and meals will be provided on the days people volunteer and for particular tasks there will be training and support as necessary. The National Cystic Fibrosis Association will be working with the conference organisers to co-ordinate volunteers and we need your help. We would particularly encourage volunteers who have an interest in the medical and scientific dimensions of CF.

Please note you can attend the conference sessions on the days you are not acting as a volunteer.

Volunteers must be aged 18 or over. Please note that for reasons of cross infection people with CF will not be able to volunteer.

Once you have returned this form to the address below, further detailed information will be sent to you in the run up to the conference. Minimum level of volunteering to allow access to part of the conference is the equivalent of one day. We would request that volunteers would commit as much time as possible to allow for continuity.

Please fill out this form, save it as a pdf on your computer and send it via email to the Volunteer Coordinator Ulrica Sterky (ulrica.sterky@bredband.net) until Tuesday 15th April 2014.

Thank you!
