As in previous years, the ECFS is happy to announce the availability of travel grants and support for Young Investigators attending the 2014 Basic Science Conference. The application form for these awards can be found under the Associated Documents box.

ECFS Young Fellows Travel Grant

Young investigators (PhD students, post-docs, or those having graduated within the last 12 months) under the age of 35 are eligible to be considered for an award recognizing the research work contained in their abstract submission. The award scheme is applicable for all the abstract categories. The Scientific Committee of the 2014 Basic Science Conference will, as part of the abstract review process, select the abstracts they deem most worthy of this award.

ECFS - Student Helpers – Free Registration

A limited number of free registrations will be made available for students under the age of 30 who submit an abstract and who are willing to assist at the conference. Tasks include meeting delegates at the airport, assisting at the Registration Desk, assisting invited speakers with presentation preparation, microphone duties during Question/Answer sessions, etc. The Scientific Committee of the 2014 Basic Science Conference will, as part of the abstract review process, select the abstracts they deem most worthy of this award.


National Travel Grants

Italian Cystic Fibrosis Research Foundation - Free Registrations
FCC Logo A limited number of free registrations will be made available for students (with a preference to those from Italy) under the age of 35 who submit an abstract.  The grant is generously provided by the Italian Cystic Fibrosis Research Foundation and will be awarded based on the merit of the research work contained in the submitted abstract. Travel Grants (only for applicants of CF working groups located in Germany)

Financial support can be provided for the active participation in national and international congresses related to cystic fibrosis in the form of assistance towards the costs of travel expenses and/or registration fees. Prerequisite for approval of financial support is that the contribution submitted for presentation (poster, lecture) is accepted, that the applicant is primary author or correspondence-author and that the materials are presented in person.
The maximum funding per application for national congresses is 500 €, for international meetings of this kind 1,000 €. Applications according to our sheet ”MI.04.28 Travel grants” (on our website) have to be submitted electronically to the Mukoviszidose Institute.
Applications for travel grants to the ECFS and NACF congresses can be submitted independently from deadlines, all other applications on travel grants have to be submitted at least 6 weeks before the next meeting of the FGM board (the dates are published on our website). Applications which do not meet the published deadlines or do not fulfil format requirements will be returned to the applicant without examination by experts.
The decision will be made by the FGM board and applicants will be informed contemporary.
