Article 3 of the ECFS Constitution on Membership

ECFS President Elect

The President is the senior officer within the Society. He or she provides the leadership required to ensure that the society fulfils the mission statement:

The European Cystic Fibrosis Society is an international community of scientific and clinical professionals committed to improving survival and quality of life for people with CF by promoting high quality research, education and care.

Dear Colleagues,

In our constitution and to enable a smooth handover, we have an election for President Elect one year prior to the current President´s end of office.

2020 is a year where the ECFS requires to select a President-Elect as I will finish my term in 2021.

The ECFS President and Board members may stand for a second term of office and I have applied for a new mandate as ECFS President for 3 years as from June 2021.

As you’ll see in my motivation letter, my main aims in standing for a new mandate are to be able to fully develop the three projects that we have begun to work on: an online course on CF, a twinning project where sites learn from each other and the support of European Post-Doctoral research fellowships.

In our constitution, elections are required for ECFS officials and in the interest of democracy, even if there is only one candidate for ECFS Presidency, I would very much like to get your support.  Moreover, there is indeed the opportunity to express a « No » in the voting system if anyone wishes.

Many thanks.

Yours sincerely,

Isabelle Fajac, ECFS President

Dear Colleagues,

The European Cystic Fibrosis Society Board has two vacancies this year.  Prof. Marcus Mall and Prof. Kevin Southern both finish their terms and I wish to express my deepest thanks to both for their contribution to the Board over the past 6 years.

We have been lucky to receive five nominations for highly valued senior figures of the CF community with international reputation.
Please read their short summaries carefully, consider their potential contributions and vote accordingly.
The Board should represent the ECFS membership in all aspects of our activities and should be drawn from a number of different European countries and reflect important areas of our activity.
The Society needs you to vote in large numbers so that your support for those elected and appointed to lead the Society is clearly expressed.
Many thanks.
Yours sincerely,
Isabelle Fajac
ECFS President
