ECFS Patient Registry

Site updated: 26 June 2010
Steering Committee updated

The purpose of the ECFS Patient Registry is to measure, survey and compare aspects of cystic fibrosis and its treatment in the participating countries, thereby encouraging new standards of dealing with the disease, to provide data for epidemiological research and to identify special patient groups suitable for multi-centre trials.  The information will facilitate long-term planning of health expenditure allocations and developing pan European support systems.

March 2010

We are pleased to announce that Dr Daniel Sher has recently joined us to coordinate the activities of the ECFS Patient Registry.

Daniel has recently retired from the pharmaceutical industry, after a long career in the top management of several multinational companies.  Daniel is a pediatrician by training. His experience as a physician and scientist was in Italy and in the UK, where he is also a Fellow of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine. He lived and worked for a long time in the US, where he also received his MBA from Columbia University.
His dual background in medicine and in business, his managerial experience gained in the US and in Europe, make Daniel an excellent choice for us and we are extremely pleased that he accepted to dedicate part of his time to the Registry.
Daniel has been asked to give new impetus to the operations of the registry, and he will contact you soon, to discuss your plans and your needs regarding our joint effort.
We look forward to [the continuation of] a mutually profitable and fruitful cooperation.
With our best regards,
Eitan Kerem and Hanne Olesen
