Objective: A sweat gland makes 10 nanolitres of sweat per gland per min., and you have 1-5 million of them. If you assume a 100 millimoles per litre of sweat salt. Please calculate the losses per hour per day and come to have some fun discussing such issues. CFTR in a syncitium versus a lung, pancreas etc.
CFTR Interactome
Leader: Margarida Amaral
Objective: The number of CFTR-interacting proteins (CIPs) has been continuously increasing and include various functional classes, namely: (i) chaperones that direct the biogenesis of CFTR, (ii) proteins that control the traffic and cellular location of CFTR and (iii) kinases and phosphatases that regulate CFTR channel activity.
The objective of this roundtable is to discuss recently identified CIPs and how novel roles are emerging for these key partners of CFTR in dynamic multiprotein complexes and how we can use this information for therapeutics.

Objective: The objective of this roundtable is to discuss which pathogens are important during the CF infections and how they evolve in the host lung during the course of infection. In particular we will discuss the influence of the different CF pathogens on the clinical course of CF infection.

Objective: The objective of this roundtable session is to discuss the importance of the sinuses as a focus for bacterial colonisation and infection of the lungs. Evidence of sinus surgery influencing the lungs is sparse, and we will discuss the indications and medical treatment strategies to eradicate bacteria from the sinuses, as well as current evidence for local antibiotic therapy.
New Antimicrobials in CF

Objective: The objective of this roundtable is to  discuss the current treatment approaches for respiratory infections in CF and the challenge in the discovery of new antibacterial. In particular,  we will discuss antimicrobial drug resistances and novel antibiotics in the pipeline to fight multi-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
